Biography

Caroline Speirs
Caroline is Head of Think Local Act Personal (TLAP), an organisation whose mission is to support organisations to embed person and community centred approaches and to close the gap that exists between the rhetoric of good policy and the reality of practice as experienced by people with lived experience and carers.
Before joining TLAP, Caroline spent over twenty years working in a variety of roles in local government social care departments, including policy, commissioning and leading on personalisation before joining the Think Local Act Personal (TLAP) partnership in 2014 as a Policy Adviser and becoming its Head in 2017.

Clenton Farquharson
I have a radical idea, it’s called being human that l’m hopeful will catch on –
and it’s this simple idea, about people, relationships, lives, and we can do this through personalisation, and a quirky idea called ‘Coproduction’, it may appear quite simple, can offer privileged insight and understanding, and draw on your own experiences to help others.
Pause for a moment and let that sink in, there are huge benefits to fostering the human potential available to us. And if we can understand and redefine ‘personalisation’ like that, I think we can change everything. And it''s a simple idea, but I don''t think it''s a small one.
