After his graduation at Art School in 2008, Sjoerd started the award-winning game development studio Monobanda. This studio was specialised in projects that combine virtual and tangible elements. In his role as CEO Sjoerd was responsible for acquiring new projects and partners. Monobanda worked on a project and assignment-base for her clients. One of these projects was joining a research consortium, with the largest Technical University of The Netherlands (TU Delft), for the PhD project of future business-partner Hester LeRiche. This eventually led to the product Tovertafel and the company Tover. Tover is a serious game and medtech company, that has not only won multiple awards, but has grown in just a few years from a three-person operation into a 70+ company, active in 14 countries. All while being fully self-funded.
During all his years of entrepreneurship, Sjoerd has developed a wide set of entrepreneurial, presentation and networking skills. From both a professional and a personal view, Sjoerd has developed a large interest in international business and intercultural relations. He uses these skills and interests for his current position as International New Business manager at Tover.
